As we leave January and step into February, a month, noted for Valentine’s Day, we’re also entering into the astrological sign of Aquarius and its accompanying gemstone, amethyst. The lovely gem was featured in royal family jewels, is one of the rarest members of the quartz family and is available in variations from pale orchid to violet. It’s a perfect time for amethysts to shine, particularly when radiant orchid has been designated as color of the year, a hue which is being seen on the red carpet and is predicted to be used widely in apparel and in home goods.
