JENNIFER Aniston has landed the lead role in the drama Cake.
Written by Patrick Tobin and directed by Daniel Barnz, the film will find the former Friends luminary playing a woman who becomes fascinated by the suicide of another woman in her chronic pain support group.
Announced at Berlin, Cake also marks the first movie in a five-movie $50-million partnership between Chinese TV producer Shenghua Entertainment and After Dark Films under the banner Cinelou Films.
The films will be produced by Courtney Solomon, who commented: “Our goal is to find great material and great talent and let them do what they do best and Shenghua has proven a great partner to make that happen.”
Aniston will next be seen in Horrible Bosses 2.
