Philip Seymour Hoffman's Autopsy Inconclusive, More Testing Needed

Philip Seymour Hoffman‘s autopsy results have come in as inconclusive, and further testing will be needed to determine the cause of his death, the city medical examiner’s office said on Wednesday (February 5).

Medical examiner spokeswoman Julie Bolcer said there is no timetable for such tests, and would not comment on what pending tests were being conducted. Toxicology and tissue tests are reportedly often done in cases where possible drugs are involved.

Police have been investigating the death as a suspected overdose.

Philip passed away at the age of 46 on Sunday (February 2), reportedly with a needle stuck in his arm and fifty bags of heroin around his West Village apartment.
