JENNIFER ANISTON HEATS THINGS UP AT 'LIFE OF CRIME ...

Jennifer Aniston took the plunge in a metallic mini dress layered under a simple black jacket at the Hollywood premiere of her latest film, Life of Crime, held at ArcLight Cinemas. The 45 year-old star looked bronzed and youthful as she mingled warmly with fans and smiled for the press. Aniston was joined by scruffily-bearded costar Will Forte, giving his whiskers a good tug. Also in attendance were Aniston’s costars John Hawkes, Mark Boone Junior and the film’s writer and director Daniel Schecter.

Writer-director Daniel Schechter smartly adapts Elmore Leonard’s The Switch, a 1970s farce about kidnapping and extortion, class and race. In Schecter’s end-of-summer black comedy, Life of Crime, low-rent criminals Louis (a brilliant John Hawkes) and Ordell (Mos Def) kidnap Mickey Dawson (Jennifer Aniston), wife of wealthy Detroit developer Frank Dawson (Tim Robbins). The hapless pair have easy ransom money on their mind, but things get complicated when Dawson has no interest in getting his wife back, with a mistress (Isla Fisher) on the side. Wife scorned, Mickey becomes an unlikely ally in a plot to take down her husband. With Detroit as the backdrop, the stark divide of class and the chasm between rich and poor, provide interesting context to the piece, harkening back to Leonard’s original film.
