jennifer aniston, gwyneth paltrow, kerry washington ... - Hydrogen Mag


The stars came out on Friday at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood for this year’s Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) telethon, raising awareness and money for cancer research.

Event organizer, Gwyneth Paltrow who lost her beloved father, producer Bruce Paltrow to cancer, took center stage as she recalled what her father meant to her. “My father’s legacy shapes everything. It’s very personal to me and everyone who is here tonight. This is the kind of thing that can affect people’s life so much. I just hope to make it through the evening without crying.”

Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet got things started with a few laughs, lighting an ‘Olympic Torch’ in full gear. Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba, Kerry Washington, Sofia Vergara, Jennifer Hudson, Common, Joe Manganiello and Robert Downey Jr. were just some of the famous faces that came out to lend their support, using their influence to urge people to donate. November Man star Pierce Brosnan, who lost his first wife and daughter to cancer spoke movingly at the charity event, as did Mad Men star Jon Hamm who lost his mother to colon cancer. Dave Matthews Band performed, pre-recorded, and Ariana Grande uplifted the crowd with a moving performance of ‘My Everything’.
