Rachel Dratch and Alan Cumming by Kenneth Cole | The Jane Dough

Fashion

If it wasn’t for the sudden deluge of tall-hat-sporting, cape-wrapped crowds bustling around our office building, we wouldn’t have even realized that it was New York Fashion Week. Apparently we’re already supposed to be thinking about what we’ll be wearing next Fall — considering that we’re still not even sure what we’re wearing on our bodies at this very moment, we don’t really see that happening. For the most part we tend to ignore Fashion Week and hope that Fashion Week acolytes ignore our ongoing love affair with clogs, but we can’t help it if our interest is piqued by Kenneth Cole’s promotional videos featuring Rachel Dratch and Alan Cumming. We’re only human.

Kenneth Cole’s show this year was called “What is Real and What is Show?” and, in begging the question, the brand produced five minutes of comedic joy, pairing Dratch and Cumming as two braggadocio friends. The best part of the video has to be the photoshopped images of Cumming as Miley Cyrus and Rachel Dratch as Pharrell. Yes, these are two real things that really happen in the video:

If we’re being completely honest, there have been many, many times when we’ve wanted to post Instagram photos of nonsense while we were at the gym just to ensure that the world knew we were at the gym. (We have now moved past that need and instead just slip allusions to our gym time in posts for this site.) In short, the Kenneth Cole video is wonderfully fun and disturbingly relatable. For those of you out and about, partaking in Fashion Week: 1. Bless your trendy soles, and 2. Know that you’ll never be cool as these two goobers.
